The Expedition Yacht is an increasingly popular vessel in the mega-yacht sector. Feadship, Lurssen, Oceanco and other builders are serving up expedition yachts in the 80-120 meter size-range. At the same time, noteworthy expedition yachts have been created from ice-class tug boats, fisheries patrol vessels and offshore supply vessels. There is a convergence in this sector between the commercial vessel builders and the dominant yacht builders - leaving new yacht buyers with important decisions to make.
